Job description

​An outstanding opportunity has arisen within a prestigious, Manufacturing business in Huddersfield. We are seeking a newly Qualified career-driven Finance Business Partner, to step into a newly created role due to a period of significant growth. This represents an exciting opportunity for any ambitious commercially focussed accountant to make a significant impact. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Director, Financial Controller, and wider business using commercial expertise to support and drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver detailed financial analysis to support business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for departmental reviews.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with operational teams, providing financial insights to influence decision-making and improve profitability.

  • Act as the primary finance contact for department heads, offering advice on cost control, pricing, and investment decisions.

  • Build strong relationships across the business to ensure financial awareness and accountability at all levels.

  • Work closely with production and procurement teams to analyse costs and identify efficiency improvements.

  • Review and refine product costings, ensuring profitability is optimised across all projects and product lines.

  • Conduct margin analysis to highlight underperforming areas and recommend remedial actions.

  • Provide financial modelling and analysis to support new business opportunities, capital investments, and strategic projects.

  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing board reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.

  • Proven experience in an SME environment, ideally within manufacturing or construction

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.

  • Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or margin analysis is highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach to challenges.

  • A collaborative team player who can build trust and influence at all levels.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the bigger picture.
