Group Financial Accountant

Job description

​Sharp Consultancy have been engaged by a leading Sheffield Business, to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This role will contribute to the delivery of the consolidated financial and management accounts working proactively with the wider Group Finance team to ensure an integrated one Group Finance team approach.

You will have responsibility for the head office companies - providing the CFO, Group FC and broader finance team with reliable and timely consolidation reporting and detailed understanding whilst working closely with a variety of internal stakeholders in the production of management accounts.

This will include responsibility for the accounting of head office companies and actively support operating companies in all aspects of accounting and reporting. Furthermore, contributing to the on-going development and improvement of the reporting processes.

Job spec:

  • Responsibility for consolidation and review of the group weekly cashflow forecasting process

  • Multi-currency treasury management

  • Assist with the production of Group statutory accounts (IFRS) and the UK subsidiary accounts (FRS 101)

  • Completion of the group statutory financial audit in accordance with group deadline

  • Assist with the timely and accurate production, consolidation and review of the monthly Group management accounts and reporting per deadlines

  • Drive improvements throughout the group reporting process

  • Production of monthly management accounts

  • Ownership of the Treasury function

  • Ownership of the Group weekly cashflow forecasting process

  • Support the CFO in Group financial planning and ad-hoc projects

  • Support the annual budget process

Person spec:

  • Within this role you must be able to summarise and present complex information clearly, confidently, and concisely, and will have an excellent eye for detail.

  • Fully-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a good technical background

  • Excellent analytical skills and advanced excel skills

  • Be articulate and able to present financial information clearly

  • Be a good team player and able to form and develop strong relationships
