Financial Controller

Our client is a recognised manufacturer based in Barnsley, seeking a qualified Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. The business is a specialist manufacturer with ties into civil engineering, housing and utilities. This position will report directly into the Finance Director whilst overseeing a team of 4 Transactional staff.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the completion of group management accounts, profitability analysis and leading budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will be suitable for qualified individuals looking for further ownership in a group setting and a step into line management.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Production of monthly management accounts at group level for multiple business entities including commentary and variance analysis

  • Maintenance of the costing systems used across the wider group

  • Provide day to day support for wider finance team – performing appraisals as required

  • Analysis of labour efficiencies including monitoring of overhead absorption

  • Completion of customer and product profitability analysis

  • Leading annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes

  • Responsibility for the update and maintenance of ERP systems – including setting up new services and General Ledger codes

  • Ownership of Foreign Exposure and hedging processes

  • Continuous review of internal processes and controls – streamlining and automating as required

  • Production of consolidated financial statements across the group and preparing the necessary audit compliance paperwork

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified

  • Experience in statutory reporting

  • Recent manufacturing experience
