Financial Controller

Job description

 We’re partnering with a manufacturing business to find a Financial Controller to join their leadership team. Based at their cutting-edge facility in Huddersfield, this is a fantastic Financial Controller opportunity which will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth as they expand into new markets. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen, providing valuable insights while leading and developing a small finance team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support decision-making.
  • Oversee P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Develop financial plans, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Manage financial performance across both business units, including stock valuation, costing, and online sales performance.
  • Improve financial controls, ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS, and manage tax obligations.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team.
  • Enhance financial reporting, ERP systems, and automation.
  • Work closely with auditors, investors, and internal teams.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including new market expansion and investment planning.

Ideally will be able to demonstrate the below experience;

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or e-commerce business.
  • Understanding of e-commerce financial models (e.g., payment gateways, revenue recognition, online sales performance).
  • Strong financial analysis and commercial acumen.
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing a finance team.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting software.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
