Assistant Financial Controller

​A brand-new position with a guaranteed growth path into Financial Controller has become available on a permanent basis in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Our client, a specialist manufacturing SME with vast international growth plans have seen a handful of successful internal promotions which has now opened up a newly created role for an Assistant Financial Controller to join the team.

This role will report into the Finance Director and receive support from the wider business whilst managing day-to-day financial operations and receiving mentorship into the wider operational elements of the business as you progress into the more senior position.

This is an exclusive role that has been designed to support an active studier in the latter part of the qualification, looking to build their skillset within an up-and-coming SME environment.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Managing of day-to-day financial operations

  • Full production of month-end management accounts including variance analysis and commentary

  • Presentation of full month end pack to board members

  • Collaborating with the manufacturing and sales teams to provide knowledge and analysis on manufacturing costs, bill of materials and product pricing

  • Reporting Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow performance Preparing monthly budget and re-forecasting as required

  • Analysis of labour costs and completion of work in progress reports

  • Automate and streamline reporting processes where necessary

  • Preparation of VAT returns

  • Assisting in audit process – acting as a point of contact for external auditors

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA active studier

  • Previous experience of working as a Management Accountant

  • Previous experience of working within an SME environment
