Finance Manager

A brand-new opportunity has become available for a Finance Manager to join a leading Manufacturing SME based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role designed to support the Managing Director and growing finance function.

Our client is a specialist manufacturer providing bespoke solutions to a variety of manufacturing and engineering clientele. With further growth predicted for 2025, this is an exciting time to join an up-and-coming local business.

The ideal candidate for this position will have recent manufacturing experience and be able to provide a hands-on approach, whilst establishing a robust finance function with a clear focus on value-add elements and business partnering as required.

 

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Ownership of full month-end processes including the full production of management accounts, revenue analysis, variance analysis and commentary

  • Business partner with production and operational teams as required

  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations

  • Develop internal controls and processes as needed across the organisation

  • Production of a 13-week cash-flow forecast

  • Ownership of cash-flow management to cover forecasting, supplier payments and credit control

  • Leading stock take and stock-reconciliation processes

  • Responsibility for the preparation and submission of VAT returns

  • Provide support to the divisional management teams and support the development of the wider finance and admin teams when needed

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified or Qualified by Experience

  • Previous Manufacturing experience
