Interim Finance Manager / Controller

Sharp Consultancy is proud to be partnering with a market-leading, globally recognised organisation in their search for an Interim Finance Manager / Controller for 12 months to lead all accounting and reporting requirements within their UK & Ireland division. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this is a high-profile role within a dynamic and evolving finance team. The business offers flexible and hybrid remote working arrangements.

The Role:

As Interim Finance Manager / Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting, while driving best practices across technical accounting and statutory compliance. Leading a highly motivated and agile team, you will take ownership of core financial reporting activities, build strategic objectives, and act as a key interface between finance and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a high-performing business accounting team, ensuring all deliverables are met to the highest standards.

  • Oversee financial results, implementing robust controls and driving continuous improvements across accounting processes.

  • Act as a key business partner across finance and corporate functions, working closely with Tax, Group Reporting, and Company Secretarial teams.

  • Manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate data provision and proactively resolving any audit findings.

  • Drive change within the team and wider FiCo function, setting clear strategic objectives to enhance performance.

  • Build and maintain relationships with outsourced finance partners, maximising value from the operating model.

  • Engage with senior corporate functions, ensuring alignment and efficiency within financial operations.

  • Head of Accounting

  • UK & Global Tax Teams

  • Corporate Accounting & EMEA Finance

  • External Auditors

  • Senior Leadership & Finance Committee

The Person:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 4+ years post-qualification experience.

  • Strong technical accounting background, ideally with prior practice experience.

  • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing finance teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Experience in driving business process improvements and delivering strategic change.

  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred but not essential.

  • Demonstrates integrity and role models an inclusive, results-driven culture.
