​Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with The Two Counties Trust in their search for a Finance Manager.

It is with this approach in mind that the Trust have developed a strategic plan for the Trust’s next chapter, which involves recruiting Finance Manager who is accomplished and has a genuine passion for change.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the central Finance function across The Trust and is responsible for delivering operational compliance with the Trust’s Finance policy, procedures, and statutory reporting requirements ensuring that they are driving the best possible outcomes through the effective management of academy budgets and effective deployment of the financial strategy.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for operating and delivering an effective financial service across the whole trust

  • To ensure all financial reporting is accurate, enabling budgetary control and sound financial planning

  • Lead the preparation of financial forecasts, development and implementation of strategies

  • Lead the production of accurate and timely Management Accounts including variance analysis and commentary

  • Maintain robust financial controls across the organisation

  • Lead the completion and consolidation of year-end accounts

  • Responsibility for the implementation and automation of financial systems

  • Identify and manage key financial risks to the organisation

  • Manage the day-to-day finance function of the organisation

  • Influence executive level decision making

  • Liaise with non-finance and executive level stakeholders during budget creation

  • Lead the creation and managing of forecasting processes - focusing on income, expenditure and re-forecasting as required

  • Establish long-term financial plans for each entity within the organisation

  • Responsibility for planning and coordinating tax and treasury management

  • Ensure financial compliance and best practice in relation to financial governance

Person specification:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders

  • Strong track record of successful leadership

  • Demonstratable success of delivering financial strategy
