Finance Assistant

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their small but dynamic finance team based in Rotherham (close to Sheffield). This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the entire purchase ledger function.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Accounts Payable Management: Sole responsibility for maintaining the purchase ledger, including processing and posting supplier invoices, managing payment runs, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.

  • Expense Payments: Processing employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate coding to the relevant cost centres.

  • Bank Reconciliations: Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies, and ensuring the integrity of financial data.

  • Supplier Relations: Liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoice or payment queries, maintaining working relationships

They are looking for a candidate with:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable/Accounts or Finance assistant role.

  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.

  • Evidence of communication skills both written and verbal.
