Accounts Assistant

Job description

​Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in the Barnsley area, seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant to assist their team throughout a transitional period.

This company are undergoing a system implementation at the beginning of 2025 and so are in need of additional support within the finance team throughout the busy period. Although offered as a 6-month interim appointment, there is the potential for the role to be extended or transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing invoices.

  • Maintaining accurate ledgers (sales and purchase).

  • Performing reconciliations.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and resolve invoice queries.

  • Assist occasionally with credit control duties, as and when required.

  • Help with ad-hoc finance tasks.

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience with accounting software is advantageous.
