We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our client's dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of purchase ledger transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the wider finance function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full purchase ledger process, from invoice processing to payment runs

• Reconcile supplier statements and manage complex supplier queries

• Ensure timely and accurate posting of invoices and credit notes

• Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve discrepancies

• Support the development and improvement of purchase ledger processes and controls

• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team

• Assist and cover for the Team Leader as and when required

Key Requirements/Attributes:

• Proven experience in a purchase ledger role, with a strong understanding of accounts payable processes

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• Strong IT skills - proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
