Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk

Job description

The Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk will ensure the day to day finance inputs are entered onto the primary accounts system in a timely and accurate manner.

This is a part time opportunity working hours that suit both parties (25 hours per week) working alongside another part time employee in a job share model.

The main duties of the role are to include:

* Ensure purchase invoices are processed accurately and authorised in a timely manner.
* Process sub-contractor invoices, ensuring that retentions, CIS, and VAT amounts are correct.
* Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly CIS returns.
* Generate payment run proposals for review by the Commercial team.
* Set up supplier payments for authorisation by the Finance Manager.
* Deal with and resolve queries from suppliers, subcontractors, and Torsion staff.
* Proactively develop an understanding of the requirements of the business, by developing strong working relationships with colleagues, and strive to meet these requirements.

* Previous experience in a similar role
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Solid team working skills
* Ability to communicate appropriately, sensitively and maintain confidentiality
* Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experienced in Excel and Microsoft Office packages
