Management Accountant

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc projects. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other departments and senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision making.

• Daily posting and reconciliation of bank transactions, plus reporting of bank balances to the management team.

• Generation of sales invoices for each project following receipt of payment certificates. Ensuring that retentions and VAT are applied correctly to the invoice.

• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Production of monthly management accounts in collaboration with the Finance Manager.

• Preparation of VAT returns.

• Checking staff expense submissions.

• Proactively develop an understanding of the requirements of the business, by developing strong working relationships with colleagues.

• Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director to identify weaknesses in the accounts systems and processes and seek and suggest potential improvements.

• Updating the weekly cash flow forecast with actual figures.

• Assisting the Finance Manager as required with the production of cash flow and P&L forecasts.

To be considered for this role, you must be studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. With previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or related sector. You must also have strong Excel skills, excellent communication skills, and a proactive and positive attitude.
