Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality industrial materials, seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to take ownership of an established international organisation. This is a pre-existing role reporting directly into the CFO and will support the wider finance function.

As Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations whilst providing accurate financial reporting and analysis to enable informed decision-making at the senior management level.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the production and in-depth analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.

  • Provide strategic insights to support executive decision-making.

  • Direct the preparation and approval of statutory company accounts, ensuring full compliance with government regulations and standards.

  • Develop and sustain high-level, productive relationships across the organisation and with key external advisors, including legal, tax, and audit professionals.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, ensuring the organisation’s compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of information delivery, leading the implementation of changes.

  • Oversee significant project work, including grant applications and the preparation of R&D tax claims.

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on thorough monitoring of external business factors.

  • Monitor and analyse external factors impacting the business, providing high-level recommendations to the executive team to inform strategic planning.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA / ACCA / CIMA.

  • Previous experience of working within an international organisation.

  • Previous experience within financial reporting.

  • IFRS and UK GAAP experience desirable.
