Financial Controller

We have been retained to support an SME Manufacturing business in their search for a Qualified Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO, this role would suit someone who is ACA Qualified with previous experience, potentially on their 2nd industry move, who are looking for their first Financial Controller position.

This role represents a unique opportunity for a finance professional to join a specialist SME manufacturer operating from their cutting-edge factory close to Leeds city centre. The Financial Controller will oversee all financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective budget management, and providing strategic financial guidance to the senior leadership team to support growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:

* Part of the senior leadership team, providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and participate in key business decisions
* Lead and develop a finance team of 5
* Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes
* Monthly management accounts production
* Lead annual budgeting process
* Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
* Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
* Preparation of the statutory accounts
* Production of the financial statements
* Cashflow forecasting
* Support with system implementation projects or upgrades as required
* Review of processes and identification of automation and improvements
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
* Managing the relationship with external auditors

Ideally will be able to demonstrate the below experience;

* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulation
* Strong leadership and team management abilities
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, and Power BI
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills

Package Includes:

* Salary £60k to £70k
