Finance Manager / Financial Controller

Job description

​We are working with a well-respected, family-owned manufacturing business in Wakefield to assist in their search for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller. This key leadership role will oversee the finance function, managing a small team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the department. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of presenting financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and providing detailed analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

​

  • Play an integral role in the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making.

  • Oversee and manage the finance team, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

  • Prepare financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and other key reports.

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful insights.

  • Manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.

  • Ensure compliance and effective risk management.

  • Enhance financial controls and improve processes.

  • Support various ad-hoc projects as required.

Ideally will be able to demonstrate the below experience;

​

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a small finance team.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
