Commercial Finance Manager

​We are excited to bring to market an exceptional Commercial Finance Manager opportunity with a high growth engineering firm in Manchester. The business is approx. £20m t/o and have experienced double-digit growth YOY. Due to the continued success and some recent investment, the business is looking to bring in a Commercial Finance Manager to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. The Commercial Finance Manager will oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring financial goals align with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align with strategic goals.

  • Provide insights to drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

  • Analyze financial performance, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities.

  • Prepare and present management reports with key financial metrics.

  • Collaborate with business units and senior leadership to optimize financial outcomes.

  • Assess investments, cost-saving initiatives, and M&A opportunities.

  • Improve FP&A tools, processes, and automation for efficiency and accuracy.

  • Leverage analytics and business intelligence for real-time insights.

  • Monitor and manage financial risks.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • Strong track record in FP&A / Business Partnering / Commercial finance.

  • Advanced proficiency in tools such as Excel, ERP systems, and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI or Anaplan).

  • Ability to thrive in both SME and high-growth environments.

  • Background in fast-paced, dynamic industries is highly preferred.

  • Advanced expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analytics.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, capable of simplifying complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences.

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering, utilities, energy environment.
