Head of Finance (Part-Time)

​Sharp Consultancy are delighted to continue their successful partnership with the renowned and historic Haddon Hall in their search for a Head of Finance to work on a hybrid basis across two or three days a week.

A truly unique opportunity has become available to lead the finance function in an historic house environment dealing with a large estate encompassing various businesses such as farming, property management and leisure activities.

Comprised of two entities, the Head of Finance role will involve setting clear objectives, optimising processes, and actively shaping individuals to improve current practices and build a robust and structured operational foundation that supports sustainable growth, furthermore, will ensure that the business operates efficiently across all its functions.

This position will naturally evolve as the businesses grow and you will play a pivotal role in shaping the finance team, maintaining stability and profitability, overseeing financial operations and driving efficiency in financial processes.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Direct Line Management and mentoring of Finance staff

  • Preparation and presentation of quarterly management accounts with supporting commentary and analysis

  • Lead business planning and forecasting, including due diligence for growth initiatives and acquisitions

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of financial systems and tools to support business growth and efficiency

  • To be a visionary leader and scan the financial horizon for commercial opportunities

  • Budgetary Supervision of Divisional Heads of Department and investigation of any budget anomalies

  • Supervision of Balance Sheet accounts and reconciliations

  • Preparing financial analysis to support management decision making

  • Cashflow management

  • Ad hoc project and investment analysis as required

  • Provide insights and recommendations to support the owners in strategic decision-making

  • Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring protection against market fluctuations and operational uncertainties
