Financial Planning Analyst

Sharp Consultancy are pleased to announce their continued collaboration with one of Barnsley's top service businesses as we assist in the recruitment process for a Financial Planning Analyst to join an expanding finance function. This is a newly created role that will report directly into the Group Finance Director and support the wider function.

As Financial Planning Analyst you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of end-to-end reporting processes, an efficient rolling forecast process and providing valuable insights into variance analysis across the wider business.

Partnering with a range of local authorities as well as independent organisations - the creation of this role will allow the business to shed light on performance as well as gain insight to valuable performance data. You will be pivotal to the progression of the business moving forwards.

This role is well-suited for Finance Analysts or FP&A Accountants seeking increased responsibility in their roles, along with extensive exposure to both commercial and operational aspects of the business.

Responsibilities will include:
* Ownership in the creation of Financial Models to provide business insight into balance sheet, P&L and cashflow forecasts
* Business partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver commercial insights for the business at group level
* Contribute to strategic projects including acquisition planning
* Provide easy to understand financial analysis for the Senior Management Team to improve strategic business decisions
* Consolidate monthly forecasts, collaborating with Finance Business Partners
* Provide insightful commentary and analysis
* Act as a central point of contact for finance business partners, ensuring consolidation and alignment.
* Drive and improve management reporting systems for actual, budgeted, and forecasted information.
* Collaborate with IT to enhance reporting tools and systems
* Full ownership of KPI generation and reporting processes
* Liaise closely with budget holders and wider management team to build a cohesive process

Person Specification:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified or newly Qualified
* Experience of Financial Modelling via Microsoft Excel
* Detail-orientated with a passion for improving processes
* Advanced Excel skills (Vlookups / Pivot Tables / Macros)
