Financial Controller

Job description

​We have been engaged to assist a dynamic small-to-medium-sized manufacturing business in their search for a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, effective budget management, and providing strategic financial guidance to the senior leadership team to support the company’s growth objectives. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional to join a specialised PE-backed manufacturer located close to Leeds city centre on an exciting growth journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, offering financial insights and recommendations to aid in strategic planning and participating in key business decisions.

  • Lead and develop a finance team of five.

  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable functions.

  • Produce monthly management accounts.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process.

  • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

  • Prepare statutory accounts.

  • Produce financial statements.

  • Forecast cash flow.

  • Support system implementation projects or upgrades as needed.

  • Review processes to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  • Manage the relationship with external auditors.

Ideally will be able to demonstrate the below experience;

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA or equivalent.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, and Power BI, with the ability to leverage technology for improved financial management.

  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong analytical skills, with focus on driving business performance.
