Financial Accountant

Job description

We are recruiting a Financial Accountant for a UK leading Manufacturing business in Leeds. This is a newly created role due to growth and will report directly into the Finance Director. The Financial Accountant will ensure the accurate and timely production of consolidated group accounts and support our financial reporting initiatives. This position is ideal for a newly qualified ACA or ACCA looking to transition from practice into an impactful industry role, or, a technically strong Financial Accountant already working in manufacturing.

Key responsibilities;

  • Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts, financial packs, and payroll costs with detailed analysis and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with tax teams and advisors on VAT returns, share-based payment schemes, and statutory accounts, ensuring timely and accurate data submission.

  • Coordinate with finance divisions and auditors to validate monthly results, manage issue resolutions, and ensure audit deadlines are met.

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Group’s Annual Report, trading statements, interim reports, investor presentations, and subsidiary statutory accounts.

  • Support the development of dashboard analytics, drive process improvements, and promote automation.

  • Lead ad hoc projects to strengthen the Financial Control framework.

Ideally will be able to demonstrate the below experience;

  • Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, preferably within a multi-entity or multinational environment.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in financial reporting and compliance.

  • Confident communicator capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems, consolidation, or accounts preparation software.
