Job description

​An exciting opportunity has become available to join a market-leading manufacturing company based in North Leeds. Following a period of substantial growth, the business is looking to appoint a commercially minded and ambitious Finance Business Partner. This role is ideal for a newly qualified accountant ready to step into a business-facing role where you can genuinely influence performance and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver insightful financial analysis to highlight performance trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI dashboards, and variance reports to support strategic reviews.

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Collaborate closely with operational teams, providing financial guidance to enhance profitability.

  • Be a trusted finance advisor to department heads, supporting decision-making on cost, pricing, and investments.

  • Strengthen financial understanding across the business through strong relationships and proactive communication.

  • Partner with production and procurement teams to analyse costs and identify efficiency opportunities.

  • Refine and maintain product costing models to maximise profitability.

  • Conduct margin analysis and recommend actions for underperforming areas.

  • Support new business initiatives with financial modelling and investment analysis.

  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing board-level reports and strategic presentations.

  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to boost accuracy and efficiency.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), Part Qualified or QBE

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial type sector is highly advantageous.

  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight.

  • Excellent communication skills – confident working with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel.

  • Background in Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, project analysis, or margin improvement is a strong plus.
